For something so fundemental to all our lives, why has there never been a tv series on money/finance/banking:?

The answer is quite simple really. When most people hear banking, they probably think of accounting, which to many is quite boring. So by the transitive property (A=B, B=C, A=C) they think that banking=boring. This means not many people would look in to it more, and therefore not watch it, which means money lost. Which ironically goes back to a point you made that in essence means that money is power.
