How do I fix my PC if it says thumbnail and shows an x? Please help. Description makes more sense.?

Does anyone know how I can fix my PC? There was a java update and I updated it and now links just show and x or are blank. Like on youtube, the suggested videos on the right side, the preview picture of the video isn't there. It just says thumbnail and shows a x. I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone please help me out?
