A good thesis for a US History paper about the turbulent sixties?

I'm writing a US History research paper about the turbulent sixties but I can't come up with a good thesis statement... I want to focus on what was going on around us in the sixties but more importantly I want to focus on the music, the movement, and how we sought to individualize ourselves from the preceding generation. I can't seem to narrow it down into a focused thesis statement, so help would be appreciated!
