Can I use InDesign on Create Space for CD album art?

I tried, used the specific pixel ratios, converted my ID document to PDF then to jpeg, but then CS wouldn't upload, it said it wasn't the right size. what am I doing wrong? Is indesign the right way to go about this? It's also hard to be sure of my design because there seems to be no way to preview ... is this right? Ah please help any help is appreciated. Thank you!
